The June Holidays are finally approaching. It has been an extremely busy term for most of us, especially with Projects Day, and other commitments, but I still managed to score A1 to this term's science test.
The curriculum mainly focused on Physics, specifically on the topic Light - Reflection and Refraction. In this topic, we studied how and when refraction occurs, and understood the formula which is used to calculate and determine the angle of refraction of light when travelling between two mediums of different optical density. Two smaller topics that were taught briefly include Converging Lens and Colour of light.
Converging lens proved to be more difficult than I expected because I am really bad at visualizing diagrams. I had to memorise all the different possibilities by heart but would easily forget them. As for colour of light, it is comparably straightforward and only needs us to understand basic theories such as how white light is formed, and the combinations of colours.
Overall, this topic is crucial because 'Light' is a broad topic that is covered in higher levels, and right now, we cannot afford to misunderstand the fundamentals. Even though I faced some problems in this topic, my friends and I managed to clarify them through discussions. Sometimes, we cannot solely rely on ourselves to excel, and should seek help whenever we feel there is a need to.
